£52m target is keen on Man Utd move despite directors comments saying otherwise - journalist

Manchester United have now been told one target would be keen on a move to Old Trafford, which is contradictory to recent stories.

Erik ten Hag is still awaiting his fate at Manchester United, as Ineos are yet to decide whether he will be the manager next season or not.

But despite that, plans are now pushing forward over the list of targets this summer.

There are several positions which will require attention in the next transfer window this summer, with a striker, midfielder and defender all needed.

Now though, United have been told one player who could potentially be a Bruno Fernandes succesor, would be keen on a move to Old Trafford.

Dani Olmo could be keen on Manchester United move

Spanish international Dani Olmo has emerged recently as a target for United to strengthen the midfield department.

Now according to journalist Rodrigo Faez – interviewed on mufc MPB – the deal could be liklier than we’d first thought for a few different reasons.

Olmo is said to like United, the city of Manchester and he’s also in love with the Premier League.

He then added that should United fancy making a move, there is a big chance that the deal will get done.

This however is surprising given the RB Leipzig director has recently expressed his belief that Olmo will remain at the club this summer.

Where would Olmo actually fit in at Old Trafford?

With interest in Olmo emerging, it’s a really intriguing player to be linked to United.

That being because he isn’t exactly a signing that’d fill a priority position.

Olmo being an attacking midfielder, would almost certainly be nothing more than a Fernandes back-up. He can also play on either wing, but the prospect of him replacing either Marcus Rashford or Alejandro Garnacho isn’t something which seems likely.

With a release clause of £52m, it’s a large fee for a squad player, which is why this isn’t a deal we’d be desperate for this summer.
