Sean Scannell has now claimed that a player Crystal Palace sold for just £2.5m is the best footballer he has ever played with.

The 33-year-old made the comments when speaking on UrFreshTVSport.

Younger Crystal Palace fans might not remember much about Scannell, although the older supporters will recall just how talented the winger was during his time at Selhurst Park.

The man from Croydon made 141 appearances in total for Crystal Palace – scoring 13 goals while also providing 13 assists.

The Nigeria international shared a pitch with Scannell on 15 occasions at Crystal Palace in terms of senior football, while also spending years alongside each other in the youth ranks.

Speaking about his old teammate, Scannell said: “Victor Moses. He is actually phenomenal. Growing up with Victor man, you think you’re good at football until you meet Victor. He is actually like another level. Growing up with him throughout Palace, there was no one near him.”

The man from Lagos made 69 appearances in total for Crystal Palace, scoring 11 goals and providing six assists before he was sadly sold to Wigan for just £2.5m – after the Eagles were plunged into administration.

Victor Moses had a fantastic career

While Moses was taken from Crystal Palace far too soon, it is still pleasing to see that he enjoyed a fantastic career at the highest level – one that is still going strong at Spartak Moscow even today at the age of 33.

The Crystal Palace academy graduate went on to become an African champion after winning the Africa Cup of Nations back in 2013, while he also won the Premier League with Chelsea in 2017.

Moses can boast an FA Cup and UEFA Europa League as well, along with the 2022 Russian Cup.

Despite the fact Wigan pinched Moses from us early on, nobody can deny that he is one of the most talented footballers to ever wear the red and blue.
