'It's ridiculous': Owen Hargreaves raves about brilliant Chelsea player after last night's 4-3 win

Chelsea edged a seven-goal thriller last night over Manchester United in a crazy match at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea beat Man United 4-3 on Thursday evening in a game for the Premier League archives.

The Blues were well on top in the early stages as they flew into a 2-0 lead inside 20 minutes. However, fast forward to halfway through the second-half and visitors Man United were 3-2 up following a big turnaround.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side snatched three points in the craziest of ways because of goals in 90’+10 and 90’+11 from the magical left foot of Cole Palmer. The 21-year-old attacker actually walked away with the match ball after his first senior career hat-trick.

Owen Hargreaves in awe of Chelsea player

Owen Hargreaves, the pundit and former Premier League star, was left stunned by the quality of Chelsea’s Palmer last night under the lights at Stamford Bridge.

The English talent scored a goal in each half from the penalty spot, plus popped up with the match-winner with his deflected shot in the final minutes.

For those who missed the match, Palmer’s performance was far more than just his penalties. The right-winger looked the biggest attacking threat all game, regularly schooling Man United full-back Diogo Dalot.

Hargreaves waxed lyrical about the brilliant impact of Palmer after the league match.

“Credit Cole Palmer – he’s so calm it’s ridiculous. That’s been the season for Chelsea, some good moments and some bad, they haven’t had much to celebrate this season. Cole Palmer, what a season he’s had – Chelsea’s best player at 21 years old,” Hargreaves said via the Premier League’s official website (10:22pm, 4 April).
