Sun and stalls brought a crowd of more than 100 people to the centre of a town for a spring fair.
The event, which featured face painting, plants, crafts and woodwork stalls, was organised by Harleston’s Future in the Market Place and Exchange Street as a way to attract more people to the town.
“We are always looking to bring more footfall to local businesses and we had a really good showing of people and at least 10 stalls,” said Zoe Moyse, 48, who is a treasurer and member of the group.
“We had a spring fair some years ago, only for it to be replaced by an antiques market in recent years. We decided to make a change, and that has proved very successful.
“I would certainly be open to organising another one next year, as it seemed very busy in the town centre, even before the official opening at 10am.
“Now we are in to spring, we have a number of other events coming up as well, including a garage sale in May and the Harleston and Waveney Festival in August.”
