'Their intensity': Chris Sutton predicts the score for Chelsea's trip to Sheffield United on Sunday

Chelsea make a quick return to action on Sunday when they travel to Sheffield United for a Premier League match.

Blues fans may still be coming down from the high of Thursday night’s crazy 4-3 home win over Manchester United, which saw them score two late stoppage time goals to snatch three points in the Premier League.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side now sit 10th in the league table. However, if they look upwards they’ll see they can climb as high as seventh if they win games in hand.

Chelsea simply must collect another win tomorrow evening on their trip to Sheffield to play the side bottom of the division.

Sheffield United vs Chelsea head-to-head

It’s a fixture that should give Chelsea a good amount of confidence going into it.

The Blues have won their last four straight matches against Sheffield United across all competitions, including a 2-0 success at Stamford Bridge back in December.

Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson were on the scoresheet in the reverse fixture this season.

All eyes will be on Palmer to continue his stunning form following his hat-trick in midweek.

Chris Sutton prediction

BBC pundit Chris Sutton has made his pre-match prediction for this weekend’s clash between Sheffield United and Chelsea at Bramall Lane.

He explains that the Blues still have a real vulnerability about them, but he’s tipping an away win tomorrow.

“Chelsea have got a real naivety about them defensively but they still found a way to win [against Manchester United], and they have still got a sniff of finishing high enough to qualify for Europe – which would be really remarkable given the season they have had,” Sutton told BBC Sport.

“I still think it is last week’s 2-2 draw with Burnley that sums their campaign up though, which means there is a chance they could follow Thursday by stuffing things up here.

“The way I’d describe Chelsea right now is as a team that is still learning. Pochettino has made some pretty pointed comments about how his players need to work as hard out of possession as they do when they have the ball, and that applies whoever the opposition are.

“They should really beat bottom side Sheffield United but they need to keep their focus and maintain their intensity.”

“Sutton’s prediction: 1-3.”
