Ben Chrisene has also impressed on loan at Blackburn Rovers. His eye-catching performance against Newcastle United in the FA Cup saw the 20-year-old lauded by Danny Murphy.
However, one loanee has endured a steep learning curve during the 2023/24 season.

Villa youngster Sebastian Revan has been on loan at the New York Stadium for the entirety of the season. The 20-year-old right back featured against the Pilgrims, and here’s what the local press had to say about his performance.
The Yorkshire Post’s Stuart Rayner wrote: “One bad mistake to play Ben Waine in undermined an otherwise decent performance at right wing-back. 6/10.”

Despite his “decent” performance, Revan saw the Sky Sports cameras highlight a poor moment in the second half.
The right-back’s long-range effort nearly found its way out of the stadium instead of troubling Michael Cooper in the Plymouth net.
Why Sky Sports thought it was necessary to highlight his miss is a mystery, considering they rarely show shots like this on their social media channels. Yet with the footage gaining over 200,000 views, it’s evident why they wanted to show Revan’s effort.
Hopefully, his loan spell with the Millers will stand him in good stead for his next move. Potentially, another loan to a more successful Championship club would be the sensible step for Villa.
The conditions at the New York Stadium have been far from ideal for the 20-year-old.
