"You could see": Pundit spotted what Oliver Glasner did just before Kevin De Bruyne scored vs Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace were on the losing side against Manchester City on Saturday and Joe Cole spotted Oliver Glasner doing one thing.

It was a dream start for Oliver Glasner on Saturday, with Jean-Philippe Mateta putting the Eagles 1-0 up early on against the reigning champions.

This however was short-lived with Man City coming back to go 4-1 up by the 70th minute thanks to a Kevin De Bruyne brace, Erling Haaland and also Rico Lewis.

It looked as though a late rally was underway in the 86th minute as Odsonne Edouard scored a great goal making it 4-2 in the end.

After this, Crystal Palace looked more likely but ultimately City were just a level above.

But during the game, Joe Cole spotted Glasner doing something interesting, here’s what happened.

Joe Cole on what he saw Oliver Glasner doing

Joe Cole was on punditry duty for TNT Sports during Crystal Palace’s game against Man City on Saturday and noticed Glasner doing one thing.

It was just before Kevin De Bruyne scored that he noticed it, with Glasner urging his players to go forward.

“Glasner, just before the goal, he was urging his side to get up the pitch at every opportunity. You could see the Crystal Palace players are so tired already.”

This is a massively positive sign and shows that Glasner is backing up everything he’s said about wanting to play one style of football and not trying to change depending on who we’re playing.

It’s a sign that Palace are on the right track and Glasner has a plan and he’s sticking to it.

The future looks very bright under Oliver Glasner at Crystal Palace

Despite things not going swimmingly for Glasner to date, he will be delighted with how his team played for periods of this game and ultimately it’d be unfair to expect more of them.

Glasner’s side pressed so well, counter-attacked effectively and for large parts of the game, they kept City at bay.

The counter-attacking was on display for Mateta’s goal as Palace broke quickly and clinically after winning the ball back.

Other than halftime until the 70th minute, the game was very even, and that’s something worth being proud of.

The future looks very bright under Glasner and we cannot wait to see just how good his Palace side is next season.
