'Great technique': Pundit blown away after seeing £40m Tottenham player v Nottingham Forest today

Tottenham Hotspur got themselves a handy win today as they had too much for Nottingham Forest.

Spurs were looking like being in for a real fight against the Midlands outfit but after another underwhelming opening 45 minutes, Tottenham burst into life in the second period.

Tottenham found themselves ahead in the first half via an own goal before Chris Wood equalised for Forest.

However, Spurs came out in the second half much better and goals from two defenders, Micky van de Ven and then Pedro Porro, ensured a big win for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

The win takes them above Aston Villa now and into the final Champions League spot, and they also have a game in hand on Unai Emery’s men.

And speaking of the two goals in the second half, the strike from Spanish full-back Porro really caught the eye.

Pundit lauds Pedro Porro for his goal v Nottingham Forest

Remarkably, the goal from Porro was actually his first of the season.

Given the £40m man gets forward so much, it’s somewhat surprising that he hasn’t netted more.

However, Porro got it spot on today with his finish and watching on for Premier League Productions, pundit Don Hutchison was full of praise for the technique shown by the Spaniard.

“Some finish that from Porro! Spurs work a lovely overload down the left-hand side and now Forest are in trouble. Porro pulls away and that’s a lovely finish, with cut spin and fade. Head over it and super finish into the back of the net. It’s great technique,” Hutchison said.

Porro will be hoping to finish the season with a bit of a flourish and ensure he is in good nick heading into a potential Euros spot with Spain.

Tottenham, of course, know they need to keep winning games to keep up the top four push.

And if they can get that Champions League spot, then Ange Postecoglou will regard his first season in charge as a successful one.
