Cristian Romero and Crysencio Summerville seriously impressed by £35m Tottenham player yesterday

Both Cristian Romero and Crysencio Summerville were left blown away by one Tottenham Hotspur performance against Nottingham Forest yesterday.

Ange Postecoglou yet again had to steer his Tottenham side past a bit of adversity at home, eventually managing to win the game with a degree of comfort.

And although the Spurs boss will be pleased to gain two points on Aston Villa this weekend, he must still be frustrated with elements of his sides’ display.

Nottingham Forest really didn’t have to work too hard to score their equaliser, which perhaps resulted from some poor defending by Destiny Udogie.

And having conceded again yesterday, Spurs now haven’t kept a clean sheet at home in the Premier League since beating Fulham 2-0 last October.

Of course, it’s not all doom and gloom at all, Tottenham do have the fire-power to negate those goals, but it is something Postecoglou will hope to improve.

That being said, it was at the top end of the pitch that Tottenham’s defender’s thrived against Nottingham Forest yesterday, with both Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro finishing superbly well.

And whilst Porro is known for his attacking flair, Van de Ven’s strike was definitely a welcome surprise.

The left centre-back struck his goal so truly, a finish Son Heung-min would have been proud of.

And as you may expect, the Tottenham defender did take to Instagram yesterday after the game to celebrate his first goal at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Van de Ven uploaded a collection of six photos from the game with the caption: “Come on You Spurs”, with quite pertinent rocket emoji.

And deservedly so, several of Van de Ven’s teammates from club and country shared their congratulations.

Cristian Romero simply wrote: “Golazooooooooo” and left three fire emojis.

Moreover, Van de Ven’s compatriot at Leeds United, Crysencio Summerville, also left his congratulations by way of emojis.

Of course, Van de Ven really did impress in all aspects of his game yet again yesterday, not just with his goal.

And however Postecoglou plans to revamp or improve his Tottenham defence in the future, it’s clear that the £35m-defender will remain a key part.

That all being said, Van de Ven was recently praising a Tottenham teammate himself.
