Rio Ferdinand names the team he's desperate to see win the PL title even though their fans really annoy him

Rio Ferdinand has now shared who he is desperate to win the Premier League this season out of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City.

It felt as if we had the first significant swing in the title-race yesterday, with Jurgen Klopp’s side failing to take three points from Old Trafford.

Manchester United yet again proved to be something of a ‘bogey’ team for Liverpool, and Rio Ferdinand will have surely been delighted to see his old side come from behind.

The pundit would have hoped that Kobbie Mainoo’s spectacular strike could win three points, but a point will probably suffice in the context of the game.

Of course, both Arsenal and Man City will have been delighted to see Liverpool finally drop points, given it appeared that they could win all of their remaining games had they overcome this task.

And although this was only a minor hiccup, it has reignited the title-race ahead of another weekend of telling fixtures.

That being said, when speaking directly after yesterday’s game on FIVE, Ferdinand admitted that he really wants Arsenal to win the league now.

Through gritted teeth, Ferdinand begged that Arsenal didn’t mess it up now given Man United had done them a favour.

He stated: “Do you know what? As much as the Arsenal fans jar me, they jar me. But I want them to win it now. I’m desperate for Arsenal to win it.”

“I beg you Arsenal, don’t mess it up now. It’s on you. We did you a favour today, don’t mess it up now.”

Of course, it’s still a sorry state of affairs from a Man United fan perspective that they are forced to choose between three of their biggest rivals.

But in truth, a lot of those fans would probably agree with Ferdinand’s admission that he’d much rather see Arsenal lift the Premier League this year.

Of course, Mikel Arteta’s side do still have some incredibly tough games to come, even if they perhaps are the best-performing side in the league right now.

And both Manchester City and Liverpool fans will be hoping that Aston Villa produce a much stronger display than that at the Etihad when they travel to the Emirates on Sunday.

That being said, Roy Keane has just shared which dressing room he’d rather be a part of in the title-race right now.
