Report: Graham Potter has just rejected job at European side, he hasn’t managed since being at Chelsea

Reports have claimed that Graham Potter has rejected the chance to make his return to management for the first time since being sacked by Chelsea.

According to Sky Sports, the Englishman had held talks with senior chiefs at a European side about taking over as the boss there.

Potter has been out of work since being removed from his post in his first campaign at Stamford Bridge, despite the fact that he was backed by many at the club as the man to take them into the new era.

Potter yet to return since Chelsea job

Results became too worrying to ignore though, and he saw his season come to an end early, being replaced by club legend Frank Lampard.

It is fair to say that things did not turn around by any means for the Blues after this, which perhaps is why Potter’s stock has not been damaged too much despite the failure at Stamford Bridge.

He has been linked to a number of both club and international jobs since leaving the Blues, however is yet to make a decision on where he will take over next.

Potter rejects Ajax job

It seems he is waiting for the right opportunity to return to the game, and it looks like he has decided that is not with Ajax.

The Dutch side have had an underwhelming campaign so far, and will no doubt be looking for a new figure to take over and lead them back to the top in the Netherlands.

Potter has been strongly linked with a job much closer to home, with Manchester United a side commonly linked with him amid their change at board level.

This is of course if Erik ten Hag is relieved of his duties, with him no doubt underwhelming since he took over at Old Trafford just under two years ago.
