Report: Chelsea working harder on signing £15m player this summer, they could beat Arsenal to the deal

Reports from Italy have claimed that Chelsea are increasing the pressure on one signing ahead of the summer transfer window.

According to CalcioMercato, the Blues are in a battle with Arsenal to get a deal over the line at the end of this season.

Goalkeeper is a position where many watching proceedings at Stamford Bridge will believe can be upgraded with the right signing when the window opens again.

Chelsea fans not impressed by Petrovic or Sanchez

This is despite the fact they signed two players for this role last summer, with Djordje Petrovic and Robert Sanchez coming in to replace the outgoing cast.

The former has emerged as the number one in the latter half of the season, however in recent weeks has seen errors start to slip into his game.

With confidence in supporters who attend games extremely low in Sanchez too, there would definitely be an appetite to strengthen the role, and they have been linked with a replacement already.

Chelsea increasing pressure for Bento

Brazil goalkeeper Bento has been one of the figures who the club have been linked with signing, and his reported price tag could well be key to them pursuing a deal.

With it being claimed that he could be available for just £15m, anyone who watched him impress against England in the recent international break can see value in that deal.

The report saying the Blues have increased their interest in a deal has now stated they are doing battle with Arsenal for a deal.

There are still a few weeks of this season for either of the two first team options at the club to make a statement and prove they should be the player used for next season.

It has also been claimed that the club have a lot of faith in the future of Gabriel Slonina, who is currently enjoying a strong loan spell over in Belgium.
