Donny van de Beek unwanted

Donny van de Beek falls into the ‘bad loans’ category with hisstint at Eintracht Frankfurt a real disappointment.

At the weekend he was an unused substitute as the German side drew with Werder Bremen. He has only four Bundesliga starts and no appearances since March 10.

Fussball News report Van de Beek is very unlikely to sign permanently with the Bundesliga side.

Their report states: “Manchester United does not believe that Eintracht will take up the purchase option.”

Van de Beek has also been questioned, with their assessment reading: “Van de Beek is generally perceived as a good character. The 26-year-old is a polite and modest person. However, there are question marks, especially regarding intrinsic motivation. Do you currently have the last instinct to go beyond the pain threshold and make yourself indispensable?”

Time is running out for the Dutchman, who is four years removed from his peak at Ajax, struggling to recapture the same magic.

Mason Greenwood is wanted

One player who is in demand is Mason Greenwood, who has made a strong impression in La Liga with Getafe.

Spanish newspaper AS report “Greenwood is the Azulones’ main target this market, but his continuity is very complicated. They will fight for it.”

Other clubs are also in the mix for Greenwood, who has scored eight goals and provided five assists this season for Getafe.

Sam Mather continues to impress

On transfer deadline day Manchester United sanctioned a number of loan deals for young players to non-league clubs. Not all of them have played.

One who has made an impression isFA Youth Cup winning winger Sam Mather, who has fought his way into the Rochdale team.

He scored at the weekend to earn them a point in a 1-1 draw. Mather now has two goals in six games and is finishing the season strongly.
