Thomas Tuchel knows Arsenal very well having faced them on multiple occasions in the past. He heaped praise on the Gunners in his press conference yesterday, but his comments on one player caught our eye.
The German raved about Kai Havertz, a player he managed at Chelsea.
Tuchel credited him for scoring the best goal of his managerial career and also expressed how happy he is to see him doing well at Arsenal right now.
He said, as relayed on HaytersTV: “Kai scored maybe the best goal of my coaching career [Champions League final winner for Chelsea] so far.
“He’s a very lovely guy, very nice guy, top character and amazing team player with outstanding qualities.
“I’m very, very happy for him that he gets the value after a bit of a rough start, but he gets the value that he deserves.”

The German had a tough start to life in North London. He was at the end of a ton of criticism early on in his Arsenal career, but all that is in the past now.
Since the turn of the year, Havertz has been amazing for Arsenal. He has directly been involved in 15 goals already this season, and Mikel Arteta’s trust in him has been repaid.
One manager who put a lot of faith in Havertz before Arteta was current Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel when he was at the helm at Chelsea.
Back on 2021, the German went as far as comparing his compatriot to three elite strikers who have won the Premier League in the past.
“I see a bit of Dennis Bergkamp, Robin Van Persie, [Dimitar] Berbatov kind of player (in Havertz),” Tuchel said.
