What people in Germany are now saying about Harry Kane after Bayern Munich’s latest loss on Saturday

Tottenham Hotspur’s record goalscorer Harry Kane has now seen Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga dreams all but fade away now.

The 11-times consecutive German champions are now set to see Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen end their sensational streak at the top.

Bayern tasted yet another defeat on Saturday against Bundesliga debutants Heidenheim.

Despite taking a 2-0 lead which saw Harry Kane find the back of the net again, Thomas Tuchel’s side let their lead slip and ended up losing the game.

Paired with another Leverkusen win and Alonso’s men now need just one more win to secure the Bundesliga title.

It has proven to be a bit of a disaster for Tottenham‘s all-time top goalscorer in Munich with the aim of ending his trophy drought proving a lot more difficult than first thought.

Meanwhile at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Spurs are flying under Ange Postecoglou with the prospect of Champions League football in his first season a real possibility.

Having seen Kane leave, Daniel Levy sanctioned a number of new signings with the likes of Micky van de Ven, Guglielmo Vicario and Brennan Johnson transforming this Spurs side.

And now Spurs find themselves closer to the Premier League leaders than Bayern do over in Germany.

What people are now saying about Harry Kane makes is very interesting

Making the move to Bayern may not have seemed a big risk for Kane to take by some people given the history of the club.

They have won the last 11 Bundesliga titles after all.

However, it has to be remembered what Kane was leaving behind at Tottenham in his reputation with the fans as their all-time record scorer.

And on top of that, the England captain was also putting Alan Shearer’s Premier League goal record on hold despite being just 47 goals away.

So far, it is certainly proving to be the wrong choice with his legacy at Spurs tarnished to some fans for what looks like another trophyless season.

In recent days, the 30-year-old has even admitted that he is still watching every Tottenham game when he can as he sent a message to Heung-min Son.

There is still one chance for Bayern to get their hands on a trophy this season with the Champions League but they face Arsenal in the quarter-finals which start tonight.

Speaking to inews ahead of the game at the Emirates tonight, European expert Kevin Hatchard has been speaking about how Kane is being perceived over in Germany now.

“He’s absolutely not seen as the problem,” Hatchard says. “I get the impression that people appreciate how much he has embraced being a Bayern player and the culture,” said Hatchard.

“He always takes time to sign autographs so much so that he dropped a box of schnitzel rolls – because he’s really got into them apparently – as he was signing autographs. He had to put it in the bin which was a bit of a shame for him!

“Considering what a big signing he was and that there were a lot of people lining up to castigate Bayern for spending that money on him, actually his performances have been very warmly received.”

After all, he has still provided Bayern with a staggering return of 38 goals and 12 assists in his 37 games.

Harry Kane stat can give Bayern Munich hope against Arsenal tonight

It has to be said, Bayern may be up against it in their hopes of progressing in the Champions League this time.

They have a fantastic record against the Gunners, but they simply are not at it this season and Mikel Arteta’s side will be going into the tie as the favourites.

However, if there is one man who knows how to deal with Arsenal then it is Kane.

The 30-year-old has scored more goals in North London Derbies than other player ever has having netted 14 times in his 19 appearances.

It may just be the glimmer of hope Bayern need to keep their dreams of Champions League success ahead of tonight’s first leg in north London.
