Chelsea youngster shines twice in three days

Tyrique George has had a superb few days in the Chelsea academy.

First of all, the 18-year-old winger started and played the full game for Chelsea’s U18s on Saturday. The English teenager scored two quick-fire second-half goals in a 4-3 home victory against West Ham.

He then joined up with the Chelsea U21s group a couple of days later, where he came off the bench and scored a stoppage time goal in Monday’s 4-0 away win at Aston Villa.

George has been destroying U18 football for most of the campaign, but he’s starting to get more and more opportunities with the U21s.

Speaking via Chelsea’s official website back in November. Blues U21s boss Mark Robinson hailed George as a “very creative” player who’s a willing learner.

What Chelsea first teamers have said about Tyrique George

George is still waiting to make his first-team debut and to earn a promotion into the senior picture, but we’ve heard his name mentioned before by the main group.

For instance, Chelsea captain Reece James addressed 18-year-old talent George back in November.

Similarly, Noni Madueke suggested George has a big future ahead of him a couple of months ago.

Let’s hope the London-born attacker is on the path to a big future at our club.
