Jackie Chan fans were left stunned on social media when they saw the celebrity looking ‘old’ in a recent appearance.

The movie star had graying and white hair, as well as a mustache and beard, and film fanatics were worried he ‘aged so rapidly all of a sudden’. The celebrity turns 70 today, and many followers have wished him birthday blessings, but are concerned over his health because of the photo. But Jackie Chan dampened fears over how he is doing and looking ‘old’ in an Instagram post to clear it up. It’s the magic of Hollywood!

Jackie Chan fans concerned he became ‘old so rapidly’

In a photo shared on Twitter, which was liked 96,000 times and retweeted almost 6,000, fans were stunned after seeing their favorite film star.

One fan was suspicious after seeing Jackie Chan in January, but he didn’t look as old as he does in the new photo.

They were scared it was a sign of time moving forward, while others joked about not seeing Rush Hour 4 release in theaters.

One user wrote: “I wouldn’t even recognize him if he walked by me! He looks good. Just different.”

A second added: “Time is undefeated,” while a third penned the Jackie Chan photo had given them a realization over their own age: “Wow, this makes me feel old!”

And a fourth said: “Time is the biggest enemy,” with a broken heart emoji.

Star explains the drastic look was for a movie role

No need to fear any longer, Jackie Chan’s ‘old’ look was for an upcoming film – and he wanted to be dedicated to the flick.

In an Instagram post, he did respond to the concerns over his health, admitting even his friends reached out.

He wrote: “Even before today, many friends have been reminding me: “Jackie, it’s going to be your 70th birthday!” Every time I hear this number, my heart would stop for a second – l’m 70 years old already?

“After recovering from the shock, the second thing that would come to my mind is a saying that my big brother, Sammo Hung once said: “Being able to grow old is a fortunate thing.” Especially for us stunt people, we don’t know how lucky we are to be able to grow old.

“Not so long ago, a lot of friends saw some recent photos of me on the internet, and they were all concerned about my health. I want to take this opportunity to let everyone know, don’t worry! It’s just a character appearance for my latest movie.

“The character requires me to have white hair, white beard and look old. Over the years, I’ve always been willing to try new things for a movie, no matter if it’s a challenging stunt or a breakthrough appearance for a character.

“I’ve been in the entertainment business for 62 years and I cherish every moment because I’m lucky I’m still filming today.”

He added: “All I can say is: I love making movies and I love you all.

“A big thank you to everyone for all your birthday wishes. Hope everyone stays happy and healthy!”
