‘A massive profit’: Journalist claims ‘there’s potential’ for Wolves ace to be sold in the summer

Wolves have been told that one star could give the club something to think about ahead of the summer transfer window, with one expert admitting that he could see one ace departing at the end of the season.

Wolves will be hopeful of conducting a better summer in the transfer window than last year, as Gary O’Neil hunts for suitable reinforcements to bolster his squad.

The Old Gold have struggled to maintain form over the past few weeks, with injuries plaguing the side at the wrong time, having a detrimental impact on the club’s European hopes.

It will be crucial for the manager to have the capacity to welcome new faces to Molineux in the summer to boost the depth, with injuries to key players being so negative due to the size of Wolves’ squad.

That being said, incomings aren’t the only thing Wolves should be braced for in the summer, with a host of players already linked with a move away from the club.

Journalist believes 21-year-old Wolves star could exit to help the club in one way

Last summer was tainted by the financial restrictions that surrounded Molineux, seeing key players depart to generate funds without the room to manoeuvre replacements.

The financial tension peaked as Julen Lopetegui stepped away from his post just days before the start of the Premier League season, handing O’Neil a significant job to do with a limited squad.

History cannot repeat itself this year, with the manager already expressing his dissatisfaction with the club’s inability to sign a striker in January although, journalist Liam Keen believes one member of Wolves’ squad could hand Fosun a significant profit.

Speaking on The Keen & Judah show, the Wolves expert mentioned the future of Hugo Bueno, expressing that “there’s potential” for the defender to exit.

“Hugo Bueno attracted some attention in previous transfer windows, but hasn’t played a lot this season, it’s been a frustrating campaign for him.”

“He’s clearly a very good player, did okay at Burnley when he started that game, there’s potential that clubs will come back in for him.”

“Do Wolves then make a massive profit, that’s not just a financial profit on the face of it but also on the books because he’s a player that they signed for only a few thousand pounds from a small academy in Spain at the time.”

“That’s a massive profit, do they make a sale there? There’s a potential for that.”

Would Wolves benefit from selling Hugo Bueno?

At just 21 years old, there’s room for Wolves to both make a profit from Bueno, as well as make a real player out of his potential.

In January, it was documented that Celtic had eyed the Spaniard, with a recent report also relaying that the Scottish Premiership giants are still admirers of the defender.

It’s been a tedious season for the youngster, who has secured just five Premier League starts, with his chances of securing regular action not looking to be any closer due to the prominence of Rayan Ait-Nouri.

There’s certainly a decision to be made over what the best next step is for both the player and for Wolves, who signed the left-back for a reported £3,000.
