New lighthouse-themed brewery near Jersey Shore to include mini-golf course

A lighthouse-themed brewery with a mini-golf course just inland from Sea Isle City is planning to open next month.

Philadelphia-based Meyers Brewing Company announced the new venture on Sunday, calling Meyers Lighthouse Brewing a “sister location” to its main operation. The brewery will be located on Route 9 in the Ocean View section of Dennis Township, just north of the main road into Sea Isle.

“Meyers Lighthouse Brewing will feature a taproom as well as outdoor seating and a mini golf course,” the company said in the announcement. “The brewery will serve a variety of beer styles such as hazy IPAs, sours, stouts, and more.”

Twelve taps are planned to accommodate both outdoor seating and a rejuvenated mini-golf course.

The brewery was founded by businessman Mike Meyers, who opened its first location in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood in 2021 by converting an 1800s carriage house, according to the business’s social media page.

The Cape May County venture is the site of a former miniature golf course, which Meyers intends to run as a separate business while being available to taproom guests. He acquired the property in the 2500 block of Route 9 in November, county tax records show.

The business has been known for having a large lighthouse next to the main entrance for the business on Route 9.

The craft beer industry has slowly become a staple of Cape May County in recent years. It’s likely the most-recognized beer maker, the Cape May Brewing Company, sells its products throughout the state in liquor stores and eateries. It operates out of Lower Township.
