'Changes everything': Coach names Inter Miami player who can hurt Monterrey alongside Lionel Messi

Inter Miami return to action tomorrow night against CF Monterrey, where Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez will be looking to overturn their 2-1 deficit against the Mexican side.

Having come off the bench against the Colorado Rapids, all eyes will be on Messi and what the Herons captain can do in what will be a must-win game for Inter Miami.

A two-goal win is what is required for the Florida franchise if they’re to progress to the CONCACAF Champions Cup semi-finals, a competition Inter Miami are desperate to win.

And speaking to Fox Deportes, former Club America and Necaxa coach Daniel Brailovsky claimed that Suarez could be as dangerous against Monterrey than Messi, with the Inter Miami striker unlikely to be as tightly marked.

Brailovsky said when asked about the impact Messi will have on tomorrow’s game: “Messi changes everything, not just for Inter Miami, who grow in confidence whenever he is on the field.

“Luis Suarez is also a threat, as he is a striker who knows where the ball is going to fall even if he hasn’t touched it for ten minutes.

“For rival teams, this will be what worries them, and Messi will make Monterrey worry even more. When you see a guy like Messi on the field, teams will try to take too much care to stop him, which allows other players to have chances.”

With seven goals and five assists in all competitions already this season, Monterrey doubling up on Messi could be one way for Suarez to cause the Mexican side some real damage tomorrow night.

The Uruguay superstar hasn’t missed a beat since the start of the MLS season, with Suarez proving to be as lethal as always in front of goal despite being 37-years-old.

And if Monterrey choose to ignore the attacker, Suarez could give the Mexican giants a night to forget, with the Inter Miami star ready to put on another showcase event for the Herons.
