The Rowbarge is one of 80 pubs in the Brunning & Price Group.

And it won the Inter Pub Competition to see who could generate the most money for charity from a single event.

The pub has also supported Thatcham Rotary for many years, hosting the club’s annual duck race – an event it says brings the community together.

General manager Owen Parker-Brunt said: “It is always our complete pleasure to host the duck race each year.

“It is the highlight of the year for us.

“We love that we can help in some small way to make some sort of difference.”

Club lead for this project Bob Champion expressed delight in receiving the donation.

He said it will go towards numerous local charities to help those in need during these difficult times.
