'Really angry': Martin Keown spotted £27m Arsenal player looking fuming in the tunnel before kick-off v Bayern

Arsenal played a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich in their Champions League quarter-final first-leg encounter at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Gunners were hoping to follow on from their return to the top of the Premier League table with a good result against the Bundesliga’s second-placed side.

Things began well enough for Arsenal, who took the lead in the 12th minute thanks to a superb curling effort from Bukayo Saka.

However, the visitors went on to equalise not long after, former Gunners talent Serge Gnabry striking back in the 18th minute.

On 32 minutes, the Gunners conceded again as William Saliba brought down Leroy Sane for a penalty that Harry Kane converted.

However, Arsenal managed to salvage a draw in the 76th minute of the match.

Saka played Gabriel Jesus into the box, and he held off pressure to square for Leandro Trossard to roll into the far corner of the net.

The Gunners then thought they had a solid penalty shout in injury-time after Saka went to ground under pressure from Manuel Neuer in the box.

However, referee Glenn Nyberg refused to award a spot kick, leading to remonstrations from the Gunners contingent, including Saka himself.

What Martin Keown noticed about Gabriel Magalhaes ahead of Arsenal v Bayern Munich

Arsenal’s centre-back pairing of Gabriel and Saliba had an uncharacteristic off-night.

Both have been head and shoulders above most other Premier League defenders this season, but neither was at their best against Bayern.

Ahead of the game, Martin Keown pointed out on TNT Sports how he noticed that Gabriel looked “really angry” in the tunnel.

I just had a look at Gabriel and he looked a really angry man. He looked really up for today,” said the Highbury legend.

Perhaps it was over-eagerness, perhaps it was nerves. In the end, he ended up having a below-par night.

However, the £27million man will no doubt have learned his lesson, get back on track for Aston Villa and then shine against Bayern in the second leg.
