'Obviously': Jurgen Klopp explains what Liverpool expect from Atalanta ahead of tomorrow's game

Jurgen Klopp has been speaking ahead of Liverpool’s game against Atalanta tomorrow about his expectations.

Tomorrow night offers a distraction for Liverpool. The club is involved in a big Premier League title charge.

However, tomorrow all the focus will be on the Europa League. It’s a competition where there is less pressure on Liverpool to get a result.

The expectations aren’t perhaps as great as they are for the Premier League title. It’s also a game over two legs, which means Liverpool have a chance to correct themselves if they don’t quite get the job done tomorrow night.

But Atalanta certainly won’t be an easy opponent.

What Jurgen Klopp said about Atalanta game and what he expects

Atalanta are a good side, who knocked out Ruben Amorim’s Sporting CP in the last round. They will be determined to get a good result at Anfield.

And they will have confidence to do exactly that. The last time they travelled to Anfield, they secured a victory beating Liverpool 2-0 in the Champions League group-stages during the 2020/21 season.

Now though, Liverpool is a completely different team. And there will be a crowd in attendance which wasn’t the case when Atalanta travelled to Anfield back in 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Speaking in his press conference ahead of the game, Klopp has explained what he expects from Atalanta.

“A couple of key positions have obviously changed, but the manager is there and the way they play is quite consistent,” Klopp said as per the club’s official YouTube channel.

“The way they defended is quite consistent, but the character and the skill sets of the different players may have gotten different. But we expect a super organised opponent. That’s what we expect. Experienced opponent as well.”
