Children take part in Easter egg hunt in grounds of Walpole St Andrew Church

More than 100 children hunted Easter eggs in the grounds of a village church over the Easter weekend.

Children and their parents gathered at Walpole St Andrew church on Saturday, March 30.

The children from the Walpole villages hunted for painted eggs around the church grounds and the adjoining field.

Families enjoyed the Easter egg hunt in the Walpoles

Each egg had a letter on which spelled out the name of “something we all eat at Easter” - hot cross buns.

There were two small marquees on the Swing Field where teas and coffees could be bought with cakes.

Children’s books were on sale and raised £40 for the Friends of Walpole St Andrew funds, this money goes towards free events like this Easter Egg Hunt.

The church was also decorated with coloured egg pictures from children from Anthony Curton Primary School. Each class had a winner who received an Easter egg.
