Reports: Antonio Conte has new job offer from club who could hijack Tottenham talks for ‘really fast’ striker

It’s more than a year since Antonio Conte left Tottenham Hotspur and the Italian will surely be weighing up a return to the game this summer.

The Conte era started so well at Tottenham, quickly turning their fortunes around to secure a top-four finish in 2022.

The expectation was that Conte would really kick on and drive Tottenham forward in the 2022-23 season, but Spurs went in the opposite direction.

Conte met his end in March 2023 after an astonishing rant having seen his side draw 3-3 at Southampton.

Tottenham moved onto Ange Postecoglou and are loving life under the Australian, but Conte has yet to return to management.

We have seen links with a move to Barcelona as Xavi prepares to leave the Camp Nou but a return to Italy could be on the cards this summer.

Antonio Conte has Italian offer on the table

Il Mattino now claim that Conte has an offer on the table from Serie A side Napoli.

Napoli won the Serie A title last season but have endured a miserable title defence having turned to Rudi Garcia and Walter Mazzarri.

Slovakia boss Francesco Calzona will take charge until the end of the season but Napoli seemingly want Conte on board.

It’s suggested that Conte has been offered €8million-a-year over three years, which works out to around £130,000-a-week.

Juventus are also interested in Conte but Napoli seem to be making the bigger push for Conte, who won the Serie A title with Inter Milan in 2021.

That could be an appealing prospect for Conte and he may even haunt Tottenham if he does make the move to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Napoli want Tottenham transfer target

Reports in March suggested that Tottenham had intensified talks to sign Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez.

Hailed as ‘really fast’ by Dirk Kuyt, the Mexico international has hit 21 goals in 28 Eredivisie games this season and looks destined to make a big move this summer.

Tottenham are very keen but Napoli could hijack the negotiations with Corriere dello Sport reporting that they want Gimenez as a replacement for Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian could leave Napoli this summer and Gimenez is being eyed as a replacement, serving as a dent to Tottenham’s hopes of a deal.

Spurs would still back themselves in this race, especially with Napoli suffering quite the fall this season.

Tottenham would hate to miss out to Conte though and there is a real chance that Napoli land the former Spurs boss and then make their move to beat Spurs to Gimenez.
