'His all round game': Danny Murphy says there's a player at Chelsea who is actually be better than Bukayo Saka

Bukayo Saka might be one of the best players in the league right now but Danny Murphy has suggested Chelsea have someone better.

Saka has been one of the stars of the show for Arsenal this season as they plough towards being in contention to win the Premier League title.

For Saka, winning the title would cap off an amazing few seasons. After being ridiculed for missing a penalty for England in the Euro 2020 final, Saka has since gone from strength to strength.

Of course, going into this summer’s Euros in Germany, Saka will once again be crucial. He shone at the World Cup in Qatar and is very much one of the first names on the team-sheet.

However, there are a number of players in similar positions to Saka doing well in the Premier League.

One of whom is Chelsea star, Cole Palmer. The £40m signing from Manchester City scored a hat-trick last night against Manchester United.

And speaking about Palmer and Saka for TalkSPORT, Danny Murphy has suggested that Palmer is actually the better footballer than Saka.

Cole Palmer better than Bukayo Saka

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Murphy praised both players but made the case to suggest that right now, Palmer is the better overall footballer.

“He’s got more goals than Saka. Look, don’t get wrong I love Saka and he’s a right winger out and out, Palmer’s kind of playing there as a ten. But his all around game (Palmer’s) you could argue is better. I’m not saying he’s a better right-winger than Saka but his all round footballing ability, in terms of passing, linking, dropping in, because Saka doesn’t play that role does he so it’s not a fully fair comparison.

“But I don’t see why it’s not an argument to have that he can’t take the place of anyone in the England team, apart from Bellingham, because of his numbers,” Murphy said.

Palmer has rattled in 16 PL goals this season and has more than 20 in all competitions, while his assist numbers are also into double figures now as well.

A place on the plane with England is all but a give now.

Quite whether he can replace Saka, remains to be seen. But there is a strong case for both to be selected by Gareth Southgate, such is the talent.
