22-year-old Chelsea player is now worth three times what the club signed him for

Chelsea used the last summer transfer window as another opportunity to completely revamp their squad again.

Fresh off lingering in the mid table places for the majority of the campaign, it was clear to see Todd Boehly and co were not about to settle for mediocrity at Stamford Bridge.

They smashed their transfer record for the second successive window in order to sign Moises Caicedo, adding him to Enzo Fernandez in the most expensive midfield pairing in history.

Chelsea spent big last summer

They looked at other positions too, and weren’t afraid to spend big money on the likes of Romeo Lavia, Christopher Nkunku and Cole Palmer to mixed levels of success.

One position they didn’t buy a particularly expensive player in was striker, however they did bring in Nicolas Jackson in that role.

While goals have not been as regular a part of his game as many would have liked, he has proven that he should easily be a part of the starting side at Stamford Bridge.

After being signed for a fee of£32m, he is looking as if he has the potential to be one of the smarter purchases made by the new owners at the club.

Nicolas Jackson worth three times his transfer fee

According to Football Observatory though, his value has more than tripled since he was brought in, with him being worth £97m according to them.

It remains to be seen whether the Blues look to sign another striker at the end of the season, especially if Armando Broja’s exit from the club is made permanent.

Victor Osimhen is a name who is frequently linked with the move, with him expected to be leaving Napoli at the end of the season.

However, PSG are also in the market for him too, with them seemingly needing to find a suitable enough replacement for Kylian Mbappe at the end of the campaign.
