Report: 'World-class' Tottenham player could look for a new club after what Ange Postecoglou has done this season

One Tottenham Hotspur player could be on his way out this summer because of what Ange Postecoglou has done this season.

The Australian was viewed by some as a risky appointment when Daniel Levy decided to make him the club’s new manager last year.

Postecoglou had never managed in the Premier League before, which seemed like a concern, but he has done a magnificent job at Spurs over the last eight months, hasn’t he?

Tottenham fans love Postecoglou and so do all of his players. However, one of them could look for a change of scenery this summer.

Richarlison could leave Tottenham because of what Ange Postecoglou has done

Tottenham signed Richarlison from Everton before the start of last season in a deal worth £60 million (Sky Sports).

The Brazilian was viewed as an excellent signing at the time. His ability to play across the front line and his incredible work rate made people think he was perfect for Antonio Conte‘s side.

However, Richarlison’s first season at Tottenham was an absolute disaster. Many people called him the flop of the season because of his performances.

Under Ange Postecoglou this time around, Richarlison has been much better. He has looked like a totally different player since his surgery.

However, a report from GiveMeSport claims that the 26-year-old ‘could embark on a fresh challenge’ this summer because of one of Postecoglou’s key decisions.

The Spurs boss has deployed Heung-min Son as a striker in 18 of his 28 appearances in the Premier League this season.

The report suggests that’s why Richarlison could look for a new club in the summer, as he probably thought he would be the main man up top after Harry Kane‘s departure last year.

Richarlison’s stats as a striker compared to Heung-min Son this season will surprise you

Heung-min Son didn’t have a great season last time out, but since taking the responsibility of captaincy at Tottenham, he has been brilliant.

The South Korean has scored 15 goals and provided nine assists for Spurs this season in 28 Premier League appearances. He has been unbelievable and has bailed them out on multiple occasions.

Richarlison, on the other hand, has scored 11 goals and provided three assists for Spurs in 25 Premier League games.

That’s not a bad record at all, but reading the above numbers will make you think that Son has been a level above Richarlison this season.

However, wait till you see how many minutes the ‘world-class‘ Brazilian has played as a striker compared to the Spurs skipper in the Premier League.

Richarlison actually averages more goals than Son this season when you consider the minutes they have both played as a centre-forward.
