The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills welcomed Erika Jayne almost 10 years ago. Since then, her life has dramatically changed. And, some fans argue she has, too. The Bravo star is taking to the stage these days as she performs her show and makes a whole documentary about it, Bet It All On Blonde.

Erika Jayne’s first job in LA

Speaking to Bravo, Erika Jayne explains how when she first moved to LA she “took a big risk.”

She describes herself as a “performing artist who could not make it in New York City,” adding how she was divorced and had a small child when she was trying to launch her career.

Clearing up any rumors, she added how “with her family’s support,” she moved to Los Angeles: “People think I up and left, that’s not true, and I would go back all the time.”

Oozing wisdom, Erika tells of her career: “It’s a game of attrition because there’s so many no’s, you have to stick it out ’til you get one yes.”

She tells of how she got a job as a cocktail waitress at the “second evolution of “Chasen’s,” which she adds “is now Mastro’s, 246 Canon Drive.”

Chasen’s was a legendary Beverly Hills restaurant which all kinds of stars visited often.

Erika began dabbling in circles of people with iconic status, given Ronald Reagan proposed to Nancy Reagan at her workplace.

She had nothing but a ‘trashbag of clothes’

Through her job as a cocktail waitress, Erika met her former husband, Tom Girardi.

She waited on him, and described him as being “kind” adding: “Everyone loved Tom.”

Speaking of their relationship, she said: “I knew Tom for well over a year before we ever went on one date. After we went on a date we never really were apart after that.”

The tale of how they got together may be interesting to RHOBH fans as Erika explains she told Tom she was single and he had his secretary ask her out on a date that night.

She responded to the invite: “No I cannot, and if Mr Girardi wants to take me out he can call me in advance himself.”

Eventually, Tom asked her out in person and they went on a date. Later in the timeline, Erika said she was looking for somewhere to live and stayed in a room in Tom’s house for “three weeks, until he was like Erika, come on.”

She said she pulled up in her red convertible with a trash bag of clothes, adding: “That was all I owned in life.”

RHOBH star continued working

Despite moving into Tom’s house and living together as a couple, Erika said she carried on working her cocktail waitress job.

She said she carried on waiting on Tom “for a few months” before he said: “You gotta quit this job.”

Tom, per Erika’s interview, didn’t want her to work anymore and suggested they go “travel the world together.”

Erika said: “And I did, for twenty-something years.”

She left her career behind because she “could not get a job performing” and added how following performing arts school, her life went on a different “journey” than she expected.

Nowadays, she has a net worth of $5 million per Celebrity Net Worth.
