‘Strange’: Ally McCoist thinks one Man City star has just said something very silly

Ally McCoist has been left stunned by what one Manchester City player has said recently.

The Blues are looking to make history repeat itself and regain the three titles they won last season – the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.

With the Citizens now in the middle of a crucial stage of their season, one pundit has been sharing his thoughts on what one figure in Pep Guardiola’s ranks has been saying.

Speaking on talkSPORT, McCoist had this to say about Rodri’s recent comments saying he’s tired and could do with a rest.

He said: “100% you don’t want to read that because do you know what that is? That’s a psychological message to his competitors, I think.

“If he is feeling tired, you don’t tell anybody, you maybe have a wee chat with Pep.

“He’s on a phenomenal run, I think he’s unbeaten in 66 games, which is incredible. Top player.

“I find that strange because I would not think you would feel tired in that position when you’re going for everything and I would certainly not be letting the opposition know that I feel tired.

“You wouldn’t be saying it, would you?”

Rodri has been busy this season

This season has seen the midfielder feature in 41 games for City across all competitions, starting all of them and completing the full 90 minutes on 31 occasions.

In fact, the only Premier League games he’s missed have been due to suspensions and has only been an unused substitute four times across the season in all competitions.

With that in mind, and the fact that he was just as prominent in the team last season when he helped them win the Treble, it may not be a surprise to many City supporters that Rodri thinks he could do with a rest.

However, we agree with McCoist that this is something that doesn’t necessarily need to be shared in the media, as it may make City’s opponents feel like they may have an edge over the Blues that they could exploit on the pitch.
