Gian Piero Gasperini on what has impressed him about Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp

Gasperini has been a stalwart at Atalanta and like Klopp he has become the face of the club over the last few years.

At Atalanta, he has created a unique style and has enjoyed a lot of success over the years.

Ahead of the game at Anfield tonight, he definitely showed respect to his opponents as well. Speaking in his press conference ahead of the game as per Mandiner, Gasperini heaped plenty of praise on Liverpool.

“Liverpool are very strong, they actually have great players in every position. Salah and Darwin Nunez in the forward line, Szoboszlai and Mac Allister in midfield, Van Dijk and Robertson in defense, and Kelleher in goal. Jürgen Klopp’s squad is extremely strong and his team is massive,” Gasperini said.

The Italian coach also highlighted the threat of Liverpool’s attack.

“Their attacks are life-threatening, I drew my players’ attention to this. The way the German coach put the team together is exemplary. There are still many players from the former championship team in the opposing squad, but since the gold medal, my colleague has integrated several young players very well into Liverpool. This is an example to follow.”

Gasperini also admitted he isn’t surprised by Liverpool’s success so far this season.

“There are no big coincidences in football, so it doesn’t surprise me that this team is fighting for the English league title again. I don’t know if he will win the Premier League, but I do know that he has a serious chance.”
