'So loyal': Jurgen Klopp says 'super' Liverpool player would sign a 15-year deal at Anfield tomorrow

One key part of Liverpool’s success during Jurgen Klopp’s tenure as manager is the family feel the club have generated under the German gaffer and in turn, players remain incredibly loyal to Liverpool.

It has seen fringe players remain happy at Anfield instead of angling for a move away, in order to get some more game time. Take Divock Origi, a Liverpool icon – but one that rarely started for Klopp‘s side.

That family effect remains right up until this day, with Klopp’s rotation policy hardly ever coming under any pressure from unsettled players behind the scenes. There could be a few changes on Thursday night.

Harvey Elliott is more than likely to get a start against Atalanta at Anfield in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals. Liverpool will be looking to secure a first-leg lead to take to Italy next week.

Elliott has started seven of Liverpool’s eight Europa League games, finishing all seven. He played half of the most-recent outing, a 6-1 win over Sparta Prague. The 21-year-old has been sensational this season.

Klopp was speaking about Elliott in an interview with TNT Sports this week ahead of Thursday’s clash against the Serie A side. He reckons Elliott’s loyalty would see him sign a 15-year Anfield deal tomorrow.

Klopp reckons Harvey Elliott could sign a contract until he’s 36

“I’m so happy it has worked out like it has worked out. The future is super bright for him. You see him play for England’s U21 side, like he’s that guy. He’s turning into a wonderful young man. He’s so loyal.

“If you ask him tomorrow – he would sign a 15-year contract for the club. It’s nice to have boys like this around, this is really a match made in heaven. A super player,” Klopp said, discussing Elliott’s loyalty.

Liverpool have had some major surgery in midfield in recent years, removing elder players like Jordan Henderson, James Milner and Gini Wijnaldum and replacing them with young players for the future.

Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Elliott are the future of this Liverpool side in the middle of the park. Elliott has the potential to be a Liverpool legend for many, many years to come.
