Report: Club now expect their manager to leave this summer after he was linked with West Ham

David Moyes still finds his future at West Ham clouded in uncertainty despite a recent upturn in form.

A section of West Ham fans were calling for the Glaswegian to be sacked amid a run of three straight defeats in February, which included an embarrassing 6-0 loss to Arsenal at the London Stadium.

The 60-year-old’s contract expires this summer, but despite the fact West Ham only have six Premier League games remaining this season, nobody knows what will happen.

Now – however – there has been an interesting development regarding one manager who could replace David Moyes

Will Still expected to leave Reims after West Ham links

Well – according to the Daily Mail – West Ham have taken a genuine interest in what Will Still is doing at Stade Reims.

The Englishman – who is actually a West Ham fan – has overseen a tremendous job with the French side, as they currently sit seventh in Ligue 1 on the edge of European qualification.

Still is just 31 years of age, and – as you may have seen on social media – Stade Reims had to pay €25,000 (£21,377) for every game he managed at first, given the fact he did not possess a UEFA Pro Licence and began his trade playing Football Manager.

Now, the man born in Braine-l’Alleud could leave for West Ham if Moyes departs.

A story from le10sport in France claims that Stade Reims expect Still to leave this summer as he aims to return to England.

The French news outlet add that Stade Reims have already identified Habib Beye as a potential replacement for the West Ham supporter.

Would be a gamble

There is no doubt that Still is one of Europe’s most talented young coaches.

The Stade Reims boss oversaw a 14-game unbeaten run to kickstart his time in charge of the French outfit, when he was effectively a complete rookie in management at Ligue 1 level.

Still ended up taking that run to 17 games, setting a new Ligue 1 record while also becoming just the second coach in the 21st century to go 17 matches unbeaten in a major European league, after Tito Vilanova went 18 games without a loss at Barcelona in the 2012/13 season.

Nevertheless, appointing Still would be a gamble for West Ham regardless of these feats, mainly due to his age and the fierce nature of Premier League football.

Having said that, any appointment in football is a gamble – be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as anything could happen this summer.
