This summer presents a big opportunity for Wolves. Despite being tipped to be dragged into a relegation battle this season, O’Neil has comfortably guided the side to mid-table.
Now, Wolves have the opportunity to really build on a successful campaign. European football is a dream for many of the Molineux faithful and with a few additions, this may not be out of reach.
There are fears that the club may have to sell one of their prize stars to reinvest in the squad this summer. However, O’Neil has now come out and stated that Wolves ‘don’t need to do this’.

Star man receives Gary O’Neil’s praise
Multiple first-teamers have done Wolves proud this season. While O’Neil will rightly earn credit for how he has improved the team, this could not have been done without the players.
Many have rightly been recognised for their talents throughout the year. Tommy Doyle is the most recent to receive after he was awarded for his England U21 career by the PFA.
However, it was Joao Gomes who has been recently praised by the manager. O’Neil stated that he is delighted for the Brazilian international who is always ‘desperate for success’.

Gareth Southgate urged to take Wolves man to Euros
Joao Gomes isn’t the only Wolves player who has had admires from his country this season.
Captain Max Kilman has been a permanent member of the starting XI throughout the campaign. As a result, Manchester United are reportedly eyeing a summer move for the defender.
However, ahead of the summer, former Wolves midfielder Simon Osborn has urged Southgate to call up Kilman for the Euros who he believes is ‘better than Harry Maguire’.
