15-year-old Chelsea youngster scores stunning solo goal in cup final for academy side

One Chelsea youngster has now taken yet another step in his meteoric rise to brilliance by scoring a fantastic goal for an academy side yesterday.

The Blues Under-17 side beat Wolves 3-1 in the PL Cup final last night, showing just how much talent the club have at their fingertips at this level.

Youngsters have actually struggled to make any real impact on proceedings under Mauricio Pochettino this season. Only really Alfie Gilchrist has been given an opportunity for semi-regular minutes off the bench for the first team.

However, this has not been a result of the youngsters not performing at a high level, with one player in particular impressing beyond his years.

Rio Ngumoha scores stunning solo goal

15-year-oldRio Ngumoha has already been tipped for great things after making an impact for academy sides a few years up from his own this season.

This continued last night, with him named in the starting side for the Under-17s in the PL Cup final last night.

He grabbed his opportunity with both hands, scoring a fantastic goal in the first half to give his side the league.

From a video shared by TheSecretScout on Twitter, after picking the ball up in his own half, Ngumoha drove forwards up the pitch before unleashing a great strike into the bottom corner.

Those who are knowledgeable about the youth system at Chelsea are already admirers of the 15-year-old, who has appearances under his belt for the Under-18 side this season.

Ngumoha compared to Kendry Paez

TheSecretScout has previously stated he is on par with Kendry Paez, a player who there is immense excitement about for when he joins up with the first team.

While he is likely far too young to be considered yet for first team minutes, it feels as if he is not far away from a loan move that can really develop his first team career ahead of his opportunity at Stamford Bridge.
