‘Dangerous’ Arsenal star shock transfer target for Juventus despite injury fears

Juventus are now considering a shock transfer for one Arsenal star, despite fears that he may require surgery to finally resolve a long-term injury at the end of this season.

The Bianconeri are paying close attention to developments at Emirates Stadium as they start planning for the summer sales. Juventus accept they must strengthen in the off-season with Massimiliano Allegri’s team third in Serie A after 31 games and 20 points behind Inter Milan.

Juventus are in a solid spot to secure qualification and their return to the Champions League with AS Roma seven points back in fifth place. But the Turin natives’ deficit to Inter Milan will leave this term as a disaster. So, Juventus will look to seize a chance to sign an Arsenal star.

Juventus monitor Gabriel Jesus’ situation at Arsenal in view of a loan transfer

That is according to TuttoJuve, which claims that Juventus are keeping close tabs on Gabriel Jesus’ situation at Arsenal. The 27-year-old has struggled for form and with injuries this term and is now facing uncertainties about his future role in Mikel Arteta’s plans in north London.

Jesus intends to honour his contract at Emirates Stadium which runs until June 2027. He has not given the idea of leaving the Gunners any thought. But the prospect of a loan deal is not completely off the table and entices the Bianconeri, who are ready to move if Arsenal agree.

Arsenal are no longer completely confident that Jesus is their future No9 having only scored four goals in 21 Premier League games this season. He has also laid on three assists through 1,281 minutes. But the Brazilian has missed eight of their 31 games to date through injuries.

Gabriel Jesus may now require a third operation on the same knee injury

Jesus missed the start of this term after feeling discomfort in the knee he initially injured at the 2022 World Cup. He initially underwent surgery to repair the ligament damage suffered in Qatar with Brazil. But Arsenal sent Jesus for another minor operation last August, as well.

The two rounds of surgery have not fixed Jesus’ knee injury, however, and he missed further top-flight games in February. Arsenal were also without the Sao Paulo native last November due to a hamstring injury. But his ongoing knee injury raises the potential for surgery, again.

Another operation could beckon this summer as Jesus admits he may require surgery to sort out the root cause of his ongoing knee injury. The striker, whom even Harry Kane calls ‘really dangerous’, has also conceded Jesus cannot remember the last time he played without pain.

Arsenal would hope that a third operation on the same knee injury, finally, sees Jesus return to full, pain-free fitness. But even after a third operation, the Gunners would surely baulk at Juventus’ desired loan deal. It would not make any sense for Arsenal to let Jesus go on loan.

The 64-cap Brazil star switching north London for Turin on loan has very few upsides for the Gunners. Sure, it could allow him a chance to recover from the injury with the guarantee of regular minutes. But Jesus would then return to Arsenal with just a year left on his contract.
