Tottenham head to Newcastle on Saturday afternoon in what may be the Premier League’s most intriguing game this weekend.
Spurs and Newcastle both have plenty to play for as we head into the final weeks of the season, and it’s fair to say that both sides will be desperate to get a win here.
Both teams have been more than a bit inconsistent this season, and this one is very tough to predict.
Speaking on his TikTok page, Troy Deeney has had a go at predicting this match, and, intriguingly he’s tipped up a Tottenham win.
Troy Deeney says Tottenham will beat Newcastle
The pundit shared his verdict on how this game will go.
“This is an interesting game Newcastle vs Spurs. Newcastle have started to get a lot of players back fit, and Spurs have a lot of pressure on them. I think this will be a highly entertaining game, so I’m going to go with a Spurs win, 2-1, but a highly-entertaining game,” Deeney said.
Newcastle will fancy their chances
Tottenham do have what it takes to beat Newcastle, but it would be foolish to write the Magpies off here.
As Deeney says, Newcastle are getting back to something close to their best after being ravaged by injuries in recent months, while Tottenham have been up and down all season long.
St James’ Park is one of the toughest places to go in the Premier League, and as Newcastle continue to build momentum, Spurs may well come unstuck here.
This is probably the hardest game of the weekend to predict, and while Deeney has stuck his neck on the line and called this one, we wouldn’t be brave enough to give a prediction around two teams who can be so wildly different week on week.
Regardless of the result, this should be a cracking match.
