A new savoury footlong snack is coming to Subway, and it's not a sub

Subway is expanding its Subway Sidekicks line with a brand new savoury option called Footlong Dippers.

The much-loved menu launched at the start of 2024 and consists of a variety of footlong snacks to eat alongside your sub.

Subway’s new Footlong Dippers

The new dippers consist of a footlong piece of bread loaded with meat and cheese before being rolled into fingers.

They were teased by Instagram foodie Snackolator this week, who shares all the latest food news before it’s been announced.

He posted an advert from a test market which shows three varieties: Pepperoni & Cheese, Chicken & Cheese, and Double Cheese.

Each one uses the new Lavash Bread that Subway has replaced its wraps with, and is designed to be dipped into a sauce.

They haven’t been announced by Subway yet, but a number of employees have confirmed they are coming soon in a Reddit post.

“I’ve been testing different variations of the new dippers,” one worker wrote alongside a picture of them making the new menu item.

“From what I have heard from both my district manager and the regional manager, you cannot customize these,” said another. “There will only be three available: cheese, pepperoni and chicken strips.”

Someone else said they “taste really good” but don’t contain much meat, and are more cheese based.

They are speculating to be launching later this spring. The Focus has reached out to Subway for comment.

Subway Sidekicks menu

The Footlong Dippers will be the second savoury option on the Subway Sidekicks menu, which currently consists of three snacks.

“Subway Sidekicks give fans more of what they love about Subway as the perfect pairing for their favorite footlong, or as a sweet and savory snack any time of day,” the fast food chain said.

The Footlong Cookie is the most popular, which retails for $5 and is super gooey, packed with chocolate chips.

Their Cinnabon Footlong Churrois baked to perfection, served warm and topped with Cinnabon’s world-famous cinnamon and sugar.

Then there’s Auntie Anne’s Footlong Pretzel, which reimagines Auntie Anne’s buttery and salty classic and is served with a side of Subway’s Honey Mustard.

The news comes as Subway has just chosen its beverage partner for the next ten years, and it’s not Coca-Cola.
