Les Ferdinand says one Tottenham player has gone from 'strength to strength' since Harry Kane left

Tottenham have been a completely different team without Harry Kane and Les Ferdinand thinks the England skipper leaving has seen one Spurs star really shine.

Kane’s exit in the summer came as no surprise in the end.

Bayern Munich had been pursuing him all summer and in the end, it came down to whether or not they’d pay Daniel Levy’s asking price, which they did.

For Tottenham, there was a big worry over how they’d adjust without Kane leading them.

But in fairness, with Ange Postecoglou at the helm, Tottenham have looked better in some ways and their new-look attacking threat has flourished.

Of course, a number of players, alongside Ange’s positive tactics, have allowed Tottenham to be in the fight for the Champions League places.

But according to Les Ferdinand, one man in particular has stepped up to the mark and shown that there was indeed reason to be positive for life after Kane.

That man, is current Tottenham skipper, Heung-Min Son.

Les Ferdinand praises Heung-Min Son’s form since Harry Kane left

Ferdinand, of course, is well remembered among Tottenham fans for his time with the club.

The former England man knows a thing or two about playing up top as well and speaking about Heung-Min Son for Premier League Productions, Ferdinand has lauded the South Korean’s impact since Kane left.

“Son has stepped up to the plate this season. Harry Kane left, and yet they have scored more goals this season without him. Son has gone from strength to strength. The difference that Postecoglou has brought from last year is night and day, playing on the front foot and being aggressive and attacking,” Ferdinand said.

How good has Heung-Min Son been since Kane went to Bayern?

It’s safe to say that ‘Sonny’ has had quite the season without Kane alongside him.

As we know, the duo were brilliant together but Son has actually stepped up to the mark since Kane left and his stats show that.

Son has already hit 15 goals this season (prior to facing Newcastle) and only needs the one assist to hit double figures.

By comparison to last year, Son only scored 14 goals all season in all competitions.

Son, then, has taken the captain’s role given to him by Ange Postecoglou and ran with it.
