'The same story': Owen Hargreaves slams Manchester United for what they kept doing at Bournemouth tonight

It was another pretty abject performance from Manchester United this evening as they travelled down to face Bournemouth.

Once again, the Red Devils found themselves behind in the game not once, but twice, as they struggled to have any sort of meaningful impact at The Vitality.

For manager Erik ten Hag, the performance – especially in the first half – was just typical of what he has seen from his United players all season long.

Luckily for United, Bruno Fernandes was once again on hand to dig them out of the mire.

First, the skipper fired in to level the game and then kept his nerve at 2-1 as he confidently dispatched a penalty which was, in reality, lucky to given to the Red Devils.

However, Fernandes’ double didn’t mask a poor performance on the whole for United and watching on for Premier League Productions, former United midfielder Owen Hargreaves was once again frustrated.

Owen Hargreaves slams Manchester United for their Bournemouth efforts

Keeping in theme with something that gets chucked at United a lot this season, Hargreaves admitted he was once again left baffled by how United play.

Picking up on how easy Bournemouth created chances and ran through the away side, Hargreaves suggested that the exact same thing is happening now that happened in the very first game of the season.

“Man Utd are simply too easy to play against, and it has been the same story from the very first match of the season. They can be played through so easily, and they concede simple goals,” Hargreaves said.

Despite the bad shape and defending in the main, United have somehow managed to concede less than the three sides above them in the table.

However, there are some glaring stats that have done the rounds in the last few weeks that show United concede a boat load of shots and chances.

Put simply, that must change if they are to ever get back to being a winning team.

They’ve conceded 48 goals this season. In comparison, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man City have all conceded at least 16 less than that.

Ten Hag, then, has work to do if he is to keep his job.
