Nottingham Forest vs Wolves round-up: Player ratings, injury update and Morgan Gibbs-White’s celebration

All the top pieces after the 2-2 draw in the Nottingham Forest vs Wolves match. This includes player ratings, injury updates and what Morgan Gibbs-White did when he scored.

Nottingham Forest vs Wolves player ratings

Wolves went another game without a victory in all competitions. This has now risen to five games after the draw against Forest mainly due to multiple subpar performances.

Matt Doherty and Pablo Sarabia did not cover themselves in glory at the City Ground. The latter missed an open net in the first half as Joao Gomes’ effort deflected to the Spaniard.

However, two players in Old Gold stood out in the match. Matheus Cunha was the most prominent as he got a brace in his return to the starting XI. Jose Sa also put in a sensational display, with the ‘keeper even picking up an assist.

Gary O’Neil issues Wolves injury update

One big factor in Wolves’ recent decline in form is injuries. Multiple first-teamers have been out with Hwang Hee-Chan only just making his return to the pitch against Forest.

However, many stars are still out on the sidelines including Craig Dawson, and more recently, Rayan Ait-Nouri.

The latter picked up a knock against West Ham at Molineux last weekend and has not played since. After the game, O’Neil was able to provide an update on the duo’s fitness as he confirmed one might need surgery.

What Morgan Gibbs-White did in his celebration

One of the major talking points in the build-up to the game was that Wolves were once again coming up against former academy product Gibbs-White.

Since his departure, tensions have only grown between the midfielder and Wolves fans and this spat was renewed on Saturday.

During the match, Gibbs-White equalised from a corner right on half time. During his celebration, the midfielder ran over to the Wolves fans, putting his fingers in his ears before kissing the badge.

However, the visitors would have the last laugh as Cunha mocked this celebration with his second just after the hour mark.
