'I don't think...': Owen Hargreaves now makes a very bold PL prediction after seeing Man City decimate Luton

Manchester City continued their stunning form by beating Luton Town 5-1 in the Premier League – and Owen Hargreaves made a very ominous prediction post-match.

City blew the Hatters away at the Etihad Stadium, with most of the damage being done in the second-half.

City took an early lead, after Erling Haaland‘s wayward bicycle kick took a big deflection off Daiki Hashioka. Luton then managed to keep City at bay for a fair while, until Mateo Kovacic opened the floodgates.

The Croatian hit a stunning volley, before Haaland bagged from the penalty spot.

Ross Barkley pulled one back, but the ‘brilliant’ Jeremy Doku and Josko Gvardiol completed the scoring to send a big message to Arsenal and Liverpool, who both play today at home against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace respectively.

City are looking very strong right now – and Owen Hargreaves made a bold prediction after yesterday’s game…

City have been sensational in 2024.

The club remain unbeaten across all competitions, with the last loss coming against Aston Villa on December 6 against Aston Villa.

City are now top of the league by two points, but this could well change later today as the other two play their games.

But there is just a growing feeling now that City are going into ‘title mode’, and it is going to take a huge effort from Arsenal and Liverpool to stop them.

For former Etihad midfielder Owen Hargreaves, City are now playing so well that they will not drop any more points this season. He told Premier League Productions: “Looking at that, I think City have got the easiest fixtures – I don’t think they’re going to drop any points.

“For Arsenal, they’ve got tough fixtures, starting with Villa.

“I think they’re (City) used to winning out. I think Arsenal will drop, I don’t think City will drop any more.”

City have momentum, but there are still some tough games

City are in a very good moment right now, but no game in the Premier League is easy and the team will have to work very hard to win every remaining game.

The next one against Brighton at the Amex Stadium could be tricky, and Wolves coming to the Etihad could also pose a threat on the counter, as they have done in the past. There is also the away game at Tottenham Hotspur, and we know they are something of a bogey side for Pep.

But undoubtedly, City are starting to purr and it would be no surprise if Hargreaves’ prediction rang true.

It’s just whether the other two teams will drop off, because right now of course, the league is not in City’s hands.
