'Amazing': Jamie Redknapp stunned by what £100k-a-week Crystal Palace star did v Liverpool live on air

Crystal Palace defied the odds and recorded a shock win at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, beating Liverpool 1-0 in an emphatic performance from Oliver Glasner’s side, with one player standing out.

Crystal Palace became the first team to win at Anfield this season on Sunday afternoon, beating Liverpool 1-0 to cause a significant upset in the Premier League title race.

Oliver Glasner couldn’t have asked for much more from his side, who were extremely impressive from the first minute, showing no sign of being afraid of Jurgen Klopp’s title-chasing squad.

The Eagles were in desperate need of a win and earned three points in style at Anfield, putting in one of the most encouraging performances of their season against the Reds.

A first-half goal from Eberechi Eze was surprisingly the only goal in what was a fiercely contested fixture, with both sides having ample chances to score over the 90 minutes.

While Eze’s goal was well applauded in what was an impressive move from Palace, it was another moment in the game that saw Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp stunned.

How Dean Henderson left Jamie Carragher stunned against Liverpool

In the first half of the fixture, Dean Henderson was called into action just as Liverpool looked as though they would find a way back into the game through Luis Diaz.

The £100k-a-week shot-stopper has done an exemplary job at filling in for the injured Sam Johnstone, proving in recent weeks why the Eagles signed him in the summer.

Sunday afternoon at Anfield was another top-class showing from the Englishman, who was lauded for one moment of magic by Sky Sports’ Redknapp during the half-time analysis of the fixture.

When watching back the moment that Henderson stopped Diaz from scoring an almost certain goal, Redknapp said:

“This was an amazing save from Henderson, I’ve got no idea how he’s done it, he just paws it away.”

It was a superb save from the summer arrival, who was integral for Palace during the fixture to suppress the threat of Liverpool.

Dean Henderson was impressive for Crystal Palace against Liverpool

In a game that saw Palace face 21 shots on goal, Henderson stood strong to deny all of Liverpool’s best efforts to score.

As per Sofascore, the Englishman made five saves, prevented 0.50 goals and completed 100% of his runouts.

It was a day to remember for every member of Glasner’s side who were strong from front to back against the Reds against the odds.
