Wolves drew 2-2 with Nottingham Forest on Saturday – and Matheus Cunha branded one of his teammates ‘a beast’.
Gary O’Neil‘s side could not get back to winning ways, but took a decent point from the City Ground, having fallen behind in the game in the second-half.
After Matheus Cunha scored a stunning opener, Morgan Gibbs-White scored an equaliser and then wound up the Wolves fans with a celebration right in front of them.
Danilo put Forest ahead, before Cunha equalised for Wolves.
It was probably just about a fair result, but Wolves did ride their luck at times.
And had it not been for Jose Sa, we could very easily have been talking about another defeat for Wolves…
Matheus Cunha lauds Jose Sa after solid display against Nottingham Forest
In recent weeks, Sa has really stepped up for Wolves.
The Molineux faithful knows that the 30-year-old can be rash, and sometimes put his teammates under pressure.
But his actual shot-stopping has also been very good, and the one-cap Portugal international was certainly in fine fettle at the City Ground.
As per Sofascore, he made seven saves in the game, with three of those from Forest shots inside the area. He was Wolves’ second-highest rated player in the game with a score of 8.3, just behind two-goal man Cunha (8.4).
Cunha was left impressed by his teammate. Sa posted on Instagram and actually acknowledged that Cunha was making his first start since returning from injury. He wrote: “Happy for you bro @cunha 💪🏼⚽️
Thank you all for the support and we will keep fighting to make you proud. 🐺🧡”
Cunha replied ‘Thank you my bro Jose! You are a beast 🔥🙌’.

O’Neil must be delighted with Sa at the moment.
While Wolves are struggling a little bit, his number one is in a really good moment, and without him being on top form over the past couple of months or so, Wolves would have lost more games than they have.
It is ironic, because his best period of the season is coming at a time when there have been an increased amount of reports about Wolves looking at other goalkeepers.
Supposedly, Wanderers like Mile Svilar of AS Roma, Patrick Schulte of Columbus Crew and Villarreal’s Filip Jorgensen.
If Sa – who signed for Wolves for around £7 million – continues to play like this, then O’Neil will surely be trying to block any exit for him this summer.
He may not be the best ball-player, but there is no denying what a brilliant shot-stopper he is.
