The Premier League is nearing the final few weeks and the race for the title is reaching its thrilling climax. Three teams are still in the hunt to lift the trophy at the end of the season, lining up an enticing final run-in.

Manchester City kicked off the weekend with a 5-1 win over Luton Town, which took them top of the league. Liverpool had a chance to leapfrog them but ended up stunned by Crystal Palace in a 1-0 defeat at Anfield.

Arsenal were handed an opportunity to pull clear when they hosted Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium. The Gunners were hopeful of reclaiming the top spot, but several missed chances saw them fail to take the lead and control the game.

Former boss Unai Emery showed his coaching credentials, as first Leon Bailey and then Ollie Watkins struck to secure a shock 2-0 win. It leaves the title out of Arsenal’s hands and in favour of champions Manchester City.

There are some big games still to come in the run-in, so with that said, here’s a look at the Arsenal fixtures compared to Man City and Liverpool in the title race.

Our verdict

Arsenal now have it all to do when it comes to their race for the Premier League title. With some tough games coming up, there will have to be some faultless displays, while also relying on results elsewhere to get them back to the top.

The one saving grace for the Gunners may be the sheer amount of away games Liverpool and Man City have to play. Four away games in the next five for both could open the door back to Mikel Arteta’s side near the end of the season.
