Home manager at Bowbridge Court care home in Newark shortlisted for award in the Ideal Care Awards

The manager of a care home has been named a finalist for a prestigious leadership award.

Debbie Cook, the home manager at Bowbridge Court, Newark was shortlisted in the Excellence in Leadership category in the Ideal Care Awards.

Hosted by provider Ideal Carehomes, the awards seek to recognise the hard work and dedication demonstrated by team members across all 36 of the providers’ care homes.

Debbie was said to have been named a finalist by the Ideal Care Awards judging panel for showing exceptional leadership and vision in developing a person-centred environment for their residents, whilst always supporting and encouraging their staff team to develop within their roles.

The awards have seven categories to vote in ranging from Care Assistant of the Year to the Kindness in Care Award, to Home of the Year.

There is also a special category created with residents in mind — Resident Outstanding Contribution Award.

This award gives credit to those residents who are the life and soul of their homes, joining in with activities and making the most of every day.

Debbie said: “As home manager, I’m dedicated to ensuring our residents at Bowbridge Court continue to receive the quality care they deserve and to making sure our team have all the tools they need to succeed in their careers.

“I feel so grateful to have been nominated for the Excellence in Leadership Award by the team, residents and their family members at Bowbridge Court.

“I can’t wait to celebrate with my fellow finalists on the big night.”

The winners in the Ideal Care Awards will be announced at a ceremony on Wednesday, April 17 at the Radisson Blu Hotel near the East Midlands Airport and hosted by celebrity guest, Shaun Williamson.
