'Possibilities': Journalist shares the latest on Luka Modric's future after links with Inter Miami

Journalist Matteo Moretto has issued an update on Luka Modric’s Real Madrid future after reported transfer links to Inter Miami.

The Croatian superstar has been heavily rumored with an exit from Los Blancos, with Modric’s contract due to expire at the end of the season with Inter Miami one of the clubs reportedly interested in signing the veteran midfielder this summer.

With Saudi Arabia clubs also chasing Modric as well as boyhood team Dinamo Zagreb, the 38-year-old midfielder has a lot of options to choose from heading into the summer transfer window, with a potential stay at Madrid also on the table.

Yet it appears that Modric himself is yet to really decide on what he wants next from his career.

Modric yet to decide on next move after Inter Miami links

As per Moretto via Football Espana, Modric is yet to fully commit to a decision heading into the summer, with the Croatian legend having numerous options on the table as Inter Miami could ramp up their interest in the veteran midfielder.

Moretto wrong: “Luka Modric has not made a decision 100% yet. There are possibilities outside of Europe for Modric, and there was the advert from Dinamo Zagreb too, but he will have the chance to leave Europe.

“As we know, Carlo Ancelotti asked whether he would be interested in joining his coaching staff in January. Real Madrid will retain Toni Kroos, he will renew. Modric is considering the role he could have next season with Real Madrid.

“Right now he isn’t playing much, he doesn’t have the role that he used to, and he’s weighing up how that might change too. He will think it over.”

Inter Miami can be more creative than signing Real Madrid legend

Inter Miami being linked with Modric is perhaps no real shock given how big a name the Madrid legend is and where the midfielder now is in his incredible career.

Yet for the Herons, the Florida franchise can be more creative in their next superstar signing than Modric, who at 38 might be too old for Inter Miami and for MLS, with the midfielder also having options elsewhere.

Indeed, Inter Miami are at a stage where they should be looking for top players in the prime of their careers, rather than the likes of Modric who are in the twilight of their playing days.
