‘By far’: David Seaman shares who he thinks is Nottingham Forest’s best player by a mile

Nottingham Forest drew 2-2 with Wolves on Saturday in a result that did little to change the complexion of the relegation picture.

The Reds were behind through Matheus Cunha but Morgan Gibbs-White managed to equalise before the half-time interval.

In the second half, Danilo put Forest ahead but it was to be Cunha who had the last laugh, scoring to earn Wolves a share of the spoils from the game.

The result leaves the Reds just a point above the relegation zone, with a tough-looking game against Everton to come next weekend.

After the result at the weekend, David Seaman has lauded one Forest star – and he believes that he’s the best player currently on the books at the City Ground.

David Seaman raves about Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White

It’s not a huge surprise that Seaman has picked out the 24-year-old as the best player currently in place at Forest.

With 13 goal contributions this season, he’s kicked on in such a fashion that West Ham and Tottenham have been linked with the Forest man.

Gibbs-White is integral to what happens to Forest this season and hopefully, he can stay in top form during the final five matches.

Seaman, it would seem, is a huge fan of watching Gibbs-White in action and he’s raved about the player on the latest episode of his podcast.

The former England goalkeeper told Seaman Says: “He’s a threat all the time because he’s unpredictable as well and that’s the worst thing for defenders.

“He is their number one player by far because he always comes up with one of these vital goals for them.”

Others must show similar trait to Gibbs-White in final five games

One thing that Forest must do is fight for everything in their final five games of the Premier League campaign and the team is desperate for points.

Gibbs-White might be considered the vice-captain these days but he’s really the leader of the pack and he arguably should be the skipper.

The 24-year-old has captained the side on some occasions this season and he’s always seen barking orders to his teammates.

One attribute that does make him a sound captain is his ability to always work hard and never give up.

Gibbs-White is constantly probing when he’s on the field and even when things don’t go according to plan, he’s always keen to show for the ball.

Other Forest players would be wise to learn from Gibbs-White and start putting as much into their own performances as the playmaker does.

Given the current situation it really is a case of all hands on deck and Gibbs-White is going to be so important to what Forest achieve come the end of the season.
