Farhad Moshiri spotted with 777 representative at Everton vs Chelsea game this evening

Well, as Everton performances go, that was one of the worst this season.

Missing tackles, affording unlimited space, making mistakes you simply cannot afford to make and barely even trying. It was a side devoid of quality and character, and they simply collapsed at Stamford Bridge against an underwhelming Chelsea side.

4-0 down at half time and 6-0 down at full time. Those travelling fans deserve a refund and more for making the trip down to West London on Monday night and serving up that drivel.

Fortunately enough, at least Farhad Moshiri was there in person to see the results of his years of failure, which have made results like this a painful reality.

However, the Iranian billionaire and current Everton owner was not alone in the Stamford Bridge stands, joined by a key 777 Partners figure which could hint at a progression in their takeover.

After all, today marked an important day in their efforts to assume control of the Toffees, as they were reportedly set to meet with MSP to discuss the loan repayment, with the Miami-based firm planning to request an extension.

Well, it was actually Josh Dreyfus alongside Moshiri rather than Josh Wander, who has usually been the one pictured at most of the Everton games that 777 Partners have attended.

Journalist Paul Brown detailed this on X: ‘It’s Josh Dreyfus, who was in the commercial dept for London Lions but is now a 777 “investment associate” and has been described to me as their de facto chief of staff. Interesting that Wander himself doesn’t seem to be there.’

Could 777 Partners’ Everton takeover be nearing?

It is hard to read into this sighting much, given this is but one of a handful of appearances that representatives of 777 Partners have made to watch Everton this season.

And yet, many months since that September agreement with Moshiri, there has been little to no progress.

The Premier League have set four conditions with which they could have adhered to smooth over the takeover process, but this apparent inability to repay MSP has scuppered that.

So regardless of what went on in today’s talks, it feels like this appearance is nothing more than a desperate attempt to showcase a confident facade as the takeover rolls on.
