Lowdham Horticultural Society held its annual Spring Show at the village hall

Lowdham Horticultural Society held its annual spring show at the village hall.

The hall was filled with nearly 200 entries including spring flowers and shrubs, pot plants, floral art and children’s handicrafts.

Visitors had the chance to see an art display by the Lowdham Painting for Pleasure group and flower arrangements entitled Recycling, created by the Lowdham Flower Guild.

The spring show trophy winners include Patrick McDonnell who won The Don Bloomfield trophy for achieving the highest number of points in the show.

Christine Baggaley won the Fred Pole Plate to winning class seven and also the Whitworth Trophy for the best exhibit in the show for the three long cup daffodils.

Annie Cast-Coombs won the Arnold Watson Memorial Cup for achieving the highest number of points in the young people’s classes.

Last but to least, Christina Lindley was awarded the Keith Fretwell Memorial trophy for winning class nine with three double daffodils.

This year’s Summer Show will take place on Monday, August 26 and it will celebrate 131 years.
